Klamath County Fire District 1 (KCFD1) is seeking a leader who can identify with the existing Culture, Mission and Values and enhance their achievement.

KCFD1 is a Special District governed by an elected, five-member Board of Directors. The District provides fire protection to 192 square miles in and around the City of Klamath Falls serving 56,000 patrons with an ISO rating of 3/10W/10. The District also provides ALS Transport services and is assigned Klamath County Ambulance Service Area #5 that covers a total of 490 square miles. The diverse area covered includes urban/suburban areas and rural/frontier as well.

The ideal candidate will be a well-educated and experienced Fire Service professional with a proven track record of successful leadership in a similar sized or larger organization. Critical experience includes significant background in providing a full range of Fire and Emergency Medical services in urban, suburban and rural environments, including administration and finance functions. Familiarity with the complexities of Wildland Urban Interface firefighting, Inter-agency coordination, and experience on an Incident Management team are preferred. The ideal candidate will have the ability to rapidly gain support of the District's personnel and the Klamath Falls community.

To qualify for this position, you will need four (4) years of supervisory experience and five (5) years relevant experience. An Associates or Bachelor's degree in Fire or Business Administration, EMS/Para Medicine, EMS Administration, and/or in public administration and having completed additional course work, such as the Executive Fire Officer's program would be a good fit for this position.

- NFPA Fire Officer (1-4)

- Blue Card ICS

- Firefighter II

- Instructor 1 & 2 (or equivalent)

- Valid Oregon Driver's License (within 30 days of hire)

Compensation & Benefits

The current salary range for this position is $115,700.00-$122,746.00. Salary placement is dependent upon experience, and qualifications.
